Interview with Saar from Undeniable Lover!
I walk into the training center and peer at the lone warrior standing in front of the large rack of weights. Saar has a dumbbell in each hand, and his bicep flexes with each curl. Strength and power emanate from him in waves.
He must sense my presence for he places the weights back in the rack and turns to face me. His blue eyes pierce me with his stare. I’m frozen in place.
“Is it time?” His low voice rumbles across the room.
“For what?” I forget what brought me here in the first place.
His lip quirks at the corner, pulling the scar that runs from his cheek to his chin tight across his face. “For the interview. Please,” he points to the solitary chair sequestered next to the table filled with pitchers of water and glasses, “have a seat.”
I wipe my sweaty palm across my skirt and head for the piece of furniture. Once settled, I pull a pad of paper and pencil from my purse then peer at him. Despite the gruesome scar, he’s quite handsome with his blue eyes, short brown hair, and broad shoulders.
A slow chuckle eases from him, and he leans against the stone wall. “I had no idea this was a formal interview.”
“It’s for the readers, you know, the fans.”
He raises an eyebrow. “Well, all right, then. Let’s get to it, shall we?”
I clear my throat, suddenly uncomfortable with his stare. “Tell me, Saar, what do you value most?”
With a quick flick, he trails a finger down his cheek and over his scar. I’m not sure he’s even aware he touched the mark. His gaze flicks to one of the massive paintings that line the walls. This one contains a portrait of Noeh, the reigning monarch. “Honoring my king.”
I scrunch my brow. “Why is that?”
A flinch crosses his features. I would’ve missed it if I didn’t know him so well.
He pushes away from the wall, straightens his shoulders, and raises his chin. “Noeh is our king and my best friend. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for him.”
I nod. “From what I know of Noeh, you are his most trusted warrior. I can see why.”
He smiles and lines form around his eyes. His obvious love for his king resonates within their depths.
“Is there anything else?” he asks.
I can’t bring myself to probe any further, so I shake my head. “No, Saar. I think that’s enough. Thank you.”
He bows his head in respect. “You’re welcome, Rosalie.”
